Shellac is applied like normal nail polish onto the natural nail. Your nail technician will prepare your nails by filing and shaping them and pushing your cuticles back. They will then apply a base coat, followed by several coats of the Shellac polish of your choice. In-between each coat, the polish will be cured under a UV lamp. The manicure is sealed with a top coat and cured, then sit back and enjoy cuticle oil being massaged into your nail beds.
A great bonus of the Shellac manicure or pedicure is that your nails are touch dry immediately following the treatment, that means you don’t have to sit around waiting for your nails to dry and can be on the go right away.

Your Shellac manicure will last up to 3 weeks to a month without breaks or chips. Book to come back into the salon after 3 weeks to have your existing polish removed, by soaking your nails in acetone, and your nails cleaned and prepared again for your next Shellac manicure. Some clients come in sooner to refill the nail growth gap. Ensure you Shellac manicure is professionally removed, as pulling the polish off yourself can cause damage to your nail.
We suggest applying cuticle oil daily to protect and nourish your nails underneath your manicure. It is best to protect the Shellac polish so that it lasts longer by wearing gloves when washing dishes, cleaning or using certain chemical products.
Your Shellac manicure will be porous due to the gel component, so stay away from cleaning and chemical products as they will cause your manicure to peel or chip!
