Autumn Hair Trends You Have to Try – Cuts & Colours
New season, new trends! Autumn is here and with it returns gorgeous copper shades and 70s styles, along with some new looks ready to try. Here are our latest autumn hair trends straight from the salon…
Autumn Hair Trends – Cuts
1. The Curtain Cut
The Curtain Cut (a la Kim Kardashian) has been popping up over the past week or so, and we’re here for it. This blunt bob is minimalist, easy to style and perfect for fall. Get ready to see this autumn hair trend everywhere! The key to nailing this look is to make sure it’s symmetrical and sharp. While it’s not dependent on length, it’s ideally either skimming the shoulders or tucked inwards at the ends if worn longer.
2. The Sachel Hair Cut
New season, new iteration of the shag! We’re loving this 70s shag and 90s Rachel crossover for fall. It features the rebelliousness of the shag cut with the cool girl layers of the Rachel, making it the perfect option for those wanting to ease into a hair cut with more attitude or those growing out a shorter shag. Ask your stylist for a shag with longer, softer layers.
3. Face Framing Styles
As we always do in autumn, we’re seeing a rise in popularity for face framing cuts and fringes. Whether you’re after swoopy curtain bangs or face framing layers, you’re sure to be on trend this season.
4. Layers on Layers
70’s layers are back in a big way – whether it’s a punky shag or bouncy volume (a la Matilda Djerf). From the butterfly cut, the octopus cut and the jellyfish cut, there’s a wealth of layering inspo out there to choose from.
Autumn Hair Trends – Colours
5. Cherry Cola Balayage
This dark upgrade on the copper trend is the perfect look for autumn, especially for our natural brunette clients! It puts a warm, red toned spin on a more cool toned dark brunette, and we’re obsessed with the result.
6. Luxurious Copper Hair
It’s not autumn without copper coming back with a bang! Expect to see luxurious, rich and deep copper shades dominate this season, from more natural gingerbread tones to deep autumn-leaf red.
6. Tweed Blonde Hair
You might have been hearing about the latest colouring technique dubbed ‘Tweed Blonde’. Created by interweaving different shades of blonde highlights and lowlights, the result is a gorgeous multidimensional look perfect for tweed season.
6. Mushroom Brown Balayage
For those wanting a more cool toned look as the weather cools down, we’re loving mushroom brown. This natural and earthy brunette shade is the perfect muted autumn/winter look and is great for blondes looking to transition into the new season with a new shade.
6. Chestnut Balayage
Yummy chestnut browns will never get old! This gorgeous range of warm chestnut shades are the golden hour of brunette balayages, giving a multidimensional sunkissed finish.
